Hammond Named Executive Director

The Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia is pleased to announce the selection of Laura Hammond, as its new Executive Director.  Over the last two months, we have been engaged in the process of searching for and hiring a new Executive Director.   The selection was made after a regional search and selection process.  Interviews were conducted by members of the Executive Committee and the hire was approved by the entire Executive Committee.

Laura’s resume includes years of teaching, planning, administration, and communications experience in the education sector.  She holds a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and International Business from the Pennsylvania State University.

Laura has been a member of The Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia since she was a Junior golfer at Whitford Country Club.  Her golf accomplishments include winning the Philadelphia Women’s Amateur 8 times.  She played collegiate golf at Penn State University where she won several tournaments, qualified for NCAAs as an individual twice, and was named to two All-Big 10 Conference teams.  Laura was the assistant golf coach at University of Pennsylvania in the spring of 2000 and has worked with the Junior Golf programs at Whitford Country Club and Penn Oaks Golf Club.
