UPDATE: Samantha Perrotta and Catherine Elliott played the Farnum playoff round at Manufacturers’ on Friday, September 1. The scoring was very close for the entire match. In the end, Samantha Perrotta was victorious by three shots. Congrats to both women on a great tournament.

Samantha Perrotta (Old York CC at Chesterfield) had a firm grip on the lead after day 1 of the Mary Thayer Farnum Cup at Manufacturers’ Golf and Country Club, shooting 74. Day 2 Perotta shot 78, for a 152 total. However, Catherine Elliott (Merion) made a huge comeback on day 2, following up her 80 with a 2-under par 72 to tie Perrotta for the lead. The two will play an 18-hole playoff to determine the winner at a date not yet set.
