Our two Stroke Play tournaments are in the books and 3 players stand atop their respective handicap classes as the 2023 Class Champions.
In the Class B Championship, it was a tight race after day 1 with 3 players tied at the top with 88 (Val Brothwood, Sue Meckling, and Judy Morrissey) and Jane Chen 1 stroke behind with 89. Day 2 scores were similar with Jane Chen (Penn Oaks) and Judy Morrissey (Sandy Run) tied at the top with 179 total. The tie-break (day 2 score) gave Chen the win, as she scored 90 on day 2 to Morrissey’s 91.
In the Class C Championship, Sandy Run’s Patty Trentini played consistent golf, shooting 95 both days to run away with the win, 11 ahead of her closest competitor.
The Class D Championship was a close competition between Sue Harbaugh (Indian Valley) and Loretta Supplee (Sandy Run). Supplee had a 2 shot lead after day 1. But, Harbaugh’s strong closing 99 gave her a two-shot edge over Supplee who shot 103 day 2.
