Despite the wet weather, our Class B, C, and D golfers played well at Spring Mill Country Club in the first day of stroke play competition.
In the Class B division, Jane Warwick (Yardley) won low gross honors with a 90. Beth Barone, from Penn Oaks, won low net shooting 71. 2nd low gross went to Lynn Talbot from RiverCrest (92). Other winners in Class B were Barbara Hampson (French Creek) – 2nd net – 79 and Jodi Blackman (Spring Mill) – 3rd net – 80.
In the Class C division, Bernie Malone, from Sandy Run, won low gross shooting 99. Jill Susi (Whitemarsh Valley) won low net with 73. Marcy Chojnacki (Little Mill) won 2nd low gross with 103. Other winners were Barbara Peoples (Sandy Run) – 2nd net – 76 and Karen Hilliard (Spring Ford) – 3rd net – 76.
In the Class D division, Kennett Square’s Kelley Fiala won low gross with a 110. Mary Ann Langrall, of Chester Valley, won low net shooting 82. Deardra Murphy (Jericho National) finished 2nd low gross with 116. Other winners were Beverly Wisniewski (Huntingdon Valley) – 2nd net – 86 and Susan Harbaugh (Indian Valley) – 3rd net – 87.
