As the 2023 season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to honor those players who finished at the top of their respective classes for points earned for the year.
Our Class A Player of the Year is Karen Siegel, of Commonwealth National Golf Club. Karen won the Nancy Wilbur and Dorothy Porter Invitationals. She and her partner won the Husband Wife Class A Open Division. Karen won the Senior Class A Championship and the Tournament of Champions. She won the Pennsylvania Senior Amateur Championship. She finished 2nd at the Dorothy Campell Howe Trophy. Karen finished third at the Mary Thayer Farnum Cup and the Overbrook Invitational. She also qualified for the USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.
Our Class B Player of the Year is Talamore Country Club’s Clare Anderson. Clare finished second in her division with her partner at the Charles S. Powell Cup. She also finished second with her partner in her flight at the Boyle Cup. Clare was 4th overall in the Class B Championship and finished third with her partner at the Class B Better Ball of Partner.
Our Class C Player of the Year is Patty Trentini, of Sandy Run Country Club. Patty won the Class C 1st Stroke Play and followed that up with a win at the Class C 2nd Stroke Play. That guaranteed her the Class C Championship for 2023, winning by 11 strokes.
Our Class D Player of the Year is Indian Valley’s Sue Harbaugh. Sue finished 2nd at the Class D 1st Stroke Play. She won the Class D 2nd Stroke Play, securing a tight win for the Class D Championship by 2. Sue also won the Senior Class D Championship by 10 shots.
And, finally, our Junior Player of the Year is Meredith Finger. Meredith finished second at our Junior Girls Championship, highlighted by an amazing first round 6-under 66. She won our Rita Cooper Memorial Cup at Bala by 3 shots.
