The Rules Workshop at the USGA was incredibly informative and we look forward to sharing the information with all of you.

A couple great ideas for reviewing the Rules before the season:
1. Read the Rule for the day of the month it is (i.e. for January 15, I would read Rule 15). It won't take very long and gives you a couple months of reviewing before the season.
2. Focus on the Purpose Statements. Each rule now starts with a purpose statement. It connects it with Tuft's "Principles Behind the Rules of Golf" and gives an overview of the reasoning for the rule.
3. Read the definitions. These are at the back of the Rule Book and frequently overlooked. Many of these contain critical information to understanding the situations you might get in on the course and what relief you may have. For Rules Officials, they recommend reading them three times a week. For the average golfer, maybe try to read them once every week or every other week?
